When Toshiba Digital Inverter is switched on, the inverter control, assisted by PAM (pulse-amplitude modulation), rapidly reaches the desired temperature has been attained, the inverter control uses PWM (pulse width modulation) to adjust compressor rotation speed to efficiently maintain precise temperature control without consuming excessive amounts of power. (2HP models with PAM and PWM Digital Inverter, and 3HP, 4HP, and 5HP with Digital Inverter.)

Optimum Comfort
Toshiba Digital Inverter's inverter technology maintains precise control of room temerature and creates a comfortable environment.
In conventional units, the compressor switches off once the set temperature is reached, and switches on again after the temperature drops. The time it takes for the unit to switch on and off causes the room temprature to greatly fluctuate.
With Toshiba Digital Inverter, the inverter control reduces the compressor power once the desired temprature has been reached, but continues operating at a reduced state to maintain a stable room temperature with minimal fluctuations.
By putting an end to on / off compressor operation, the inverter technology also allows Toshiba Digital Inverter to significantly reduce noise levels.
